This has become an annual event, held in the
Burrendale Hotel, Newcastle in March and preceded by high tea for those that
wish to make a day of it. A room for changing (or use of the Leisure Suite
facilities) is available to those who have been out on the walk beforehand.
Usually about 3 presenters share the delights of their recent adventures.

Trips
Away
There are usually several trips away each year,
(normally mid Feb, Easter, May Bank Holiday, July) for example to Connemara, Donegal,
Scotland or the Lake District. Dates are advertised in the programme and
further details distributed nearer the time. In order that such trips survive
we are relying on members to suggest suitable places, help in organising the
accommodation and to offer to lead some of the walks. Please make suggestions
or offer your assistance to the committee.
The

May 30 – June 4 Scottish Early Summer Walking
(A/B)
Mainly Munros and Corbetts in the Nevis and Mamore ranges based in Fort William.
Since Fort William is a popular area for walkers, please contact Andrew a.s.a.p so that accommodation can be booked.

encourage our members to help us remove rubbish from the mountains while still
having a good day out in the hills.

Meeting

year, a chance to elect a new committee, vote on motions raised by members, and

Star Trek in the Mournes
George Acheson is prepared to share his
knowledge of the stars (and perhaps even the meteorites) on a Friday night walk
in December, starting from Meelmore Lodge (306308). Head torches would be
required. Since it will be very much
weather dependent, walkers must contact George to express an interest.
